Advantages of Fee-for-Service Care
Privacy. Through avoiding insurance, your personal mental health information is able to remain private. When you utilize health insurance, a mental health diagnosis and treatment plan are required. This becomes part of your permanent health care record. By choosing fee-for-service care, your health information is able to remain private.
Individualized length of treatment. Some insurance companies only offer a limited number of mental health sessions per year or for diagnosis. This can lead to prematurely discharging from services before you have met your goals. Together we will be able to determine the length of treatment based on your goals.
Simple, straightforward payment. You’ll be able to avoid co-pays, deductibles, or insurance hassles. You’ll pay one set fee for your services directly at the time of your appointment. It’s that easy.
Payments are collected at the time of service. I accept checks, credit card payments, and payment through an health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending accounts (FSA). I am able to provide you with a detailed invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If utilizing your insurance plan, I always recommend confirming coverage for use of an HSA, FSA, or out-of-network benefits with your insurance provider prior to starting services.
As a fee-for-service mental health professional, I do not directly charge your insurance company. I am happy to provide you with the necessary billing information to submit for reimbursement for out of network benefits or choose to pay with a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Please verify the specific requirements with your insurance provider.
